Professor Jack Satsangi is Professor of Gastroenterology at Edinburgh University. He is a PI in the UK UKIGC. He is secretary of the BSG IBD committee, SSG Research committee and represents Scotland in the UKCRN Speciality Group. He was co-chairman of the Working Party which developed the Montreal Classification system for phenotype assessment.

Dr Miles Parkes is a gastroenterologist at Addenbrooke’s hospital, Cambridge and an Associate Lecturer at Cambridge University. He is a PI for the WTCCC and chairs the UK and international IBD genetics research consortia.

Professor Chris Mathew is Professor of Molecular Genetics at Guy’s Hospital, King’s College London School of Medicine. He is a PI of the WTCCC. He is the former Director of the NHS SE Thames Regional DNA Diagnostic Service, and former Chairman of the Specialty Advisory Committee on Genetics for the Royal College of Pathologists.

Dr David Wilson is a Paediatric Gastroenterologist and Reader at Edinburgh University.  He is PI in the MRC-funded PICTS cohort study of PIBD, a member of the international PIBD genetics consortium, and has led UK-wide studies of biological use in PIBD.

Dr Jeff Barrett is a group leader in statistical genetics at the WTSI,. He has led GWAS which have identified twenty susceptibility loci each for CD and Type I Diabetes. He previously developed the widely used Haploview software (>3000 citations).

Dr Carl Anderson is a group leader in the Statistical Genetics Group at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute. He is a member of the International and UK IBD consortia and analytical lead for IBD subphenotype studies. He is a leader of the WTCCC2 and WTCCC3 analyses teams.

Dr Tariq Ahmad is a gastroenterologist at the Royal Devon and Exeter hospital and Fellow at the Peninsula Medical School. He is a PI of the UKIGC and a member of the BSG IBD committee. He sat on the international working party that developed the Montreal classification of IBD and leads the study investigating the genetics of 5ASA nephrotoxicity

Dr Charlie Lees is a Lecturer in Gastroenterology at the Edinburgh University.  His research interests include IBD genetics and pharmacogenetics. He is the 2009 ASNEMGE Rising Star in Gastroenterology.

Dr John Mansfield is a gastroenterologist and Senior Lecturer at the Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle upon Tyne. His research interests are IBD therapy and genetics.

Dr Jeremy Sanderson is a Gastroenterologist at Guy’s & St. Thomas’ Hospital and Senior Clinical Research Fellow in the Nutritional Sciences Division King’s College London. His current research interests include the pharmacogenetics of thiopurine therapy.
